DISCIPLE 3 INTRODUCTION | DISCIPLE 1 | DISCIPLE 2 | DISCIPLE 3 | DISCIPLE 4 | Jesus in the Gospels DISCIPLE 3: REMEMBER WHO YOU ARE is the third study in the DISCIPLE program. The main idea in this study is the connection between memory and identity as the people of God. The word You in the title is meant to be heard both in its singular form (the individual) and its plural form (the community). Several themes weave their way through the study - the call to remember; the call to repentance; the need for renewed vision (eyes to see, ears to hear); and the place of community. The Prophets in the Old Testament, from Isaiah to Malachi and the Letters of Paul in the New Testament, who are continually calling their hearers and readers back to their God and to a sense of who they are as a “set apart” people, are the books read in DISCIPLE 3. By studying the prophets and learning of the mistakes made by God’s people in the past, we can hopefully avoid making those same mistakes going forward as the church of Christ. The writings of Paul are instructional, challenging and thought provoking for the serious Bible student. A 32-week study.
